In its promotion of economic development, too, Nonnweiler can point to outstanding achievements. In 2003, for example, it was awarded the government of the Saarland's prize for a business-friendly municipality.

And not without reason. Nonnweiler was never content to rest on the laurels of its successful industrial park; instead, it invested heavily in developing further new areas, and continually upgraded its infrastructure.

The improvements to the infrastructure led to a substantial boost in development which many companies were able to exploit to their advantage. For almost 40 years, the local authority has co-operated successfully with the district authority and the regional government in obtaining funding and in continually improving the conditions for new ventures.

Targeted investment and personal support have paved the way to success for many companies located here. We intend to pursue this strategy in Nonnweiler in the coming years, and have made it a top priority.
